Alvord Mountains, Fall 2013

Last weekend was suppose to be Panamint Valley, but some crazy went on a shooting rampage Friday morning and 395 was closed. I got as far as Adelanto before heading to the cabin.

This weekend I headed for the Alvord Mountains. I love the place despite all the shooters who make it their BLM ammo expenditure site. Friday was a great day and I saw the tarantula passing me in the fast lane. I need to speed up. I took a bad turn as I headed for my campsite and found a deep sandy part of the roadway. Bummer. 45 minutes later, I was free and then over the bump to my campsite.

I had a wonderful weekend--all the digging and jacking, not withstanding. My solar panel worked great again---powering my Saturday afternoon movie--The River's Edge with Ray Milland, Anthony Quinn, and Debra Paget. That left me enough power in my DieHard to watch River's Edge with Crispin Glover, Keanu Reeves, and Dennis Hopper. The plots were unrelated.

Here are the photo's.
