What happened to going camping?

This is the longest period without camping I have spent in years. First there were two wild fires that shut down my local forest for weeks at a time; then, when the closures were lifted, we had monsoonal rains for two weeks in a row. I also spent a weekend in Catalina on the sailboat which is a kind of camping. Then I was sick, then the wind blew. Now I am committed to going camping this weekend and then again in three weeks---great!

Winter is getting close and desert camping season will be much appreciated---no fires.
