There aren't always very many campers at Wind Wolves and the ring is close to some of the sites.

Red Rock Canyon SP should be really nice this weekend

Jawbone Canyon won't have the solitude because of vehicles

Owl canyon is very cool with hiking and campsites

I would say Owl is good if you don't want to go to Red Rock. Owl will have spots---not as many people go there. It has good pit toilets but no water. Take the 14 north to 58 east to Barstow. Then take the Main street / hwy 66 turn-off north east to First ave. left to Irwin Rd. (Not Ft. Irwin Rd.) left out of town north. Turn left on Fossil Bed Rd. Turn Rt on Rainbow Basin rd. and rt on Owl Canyon rd. 2wd should be fine.
