Don't kid yourself. Bear is the real deal. The problem is he comes with a lot more hype which is why it ticks people off when they find out certain things are not "real". Anyway, I like Survivorman more because he actually is trying to teach you a few things and not trying to prove to you how much of a bada$$ he is.

survivorman is by far better. no hotels and camera crew to help him survive.

Bear is pretty cool. What I like about him is that he will purposely do stuff to demonstrate technics. He may not be "surviving" like Les Stroud but he is showing some cool stuff. Anyone notice that he can NEVER land his parachute with out crashing?

It's unfortunate that Bear gets discredited for all his achievement for that hotel incident. He still climbed to the top of Mt. Everest twice and many other stuff. I'm addicted to both shows and don't see the point of having a 'vs' contest. They'll both out-survive us all.
